‘Endeavour’ to call it a day after 9 series!

Endeavour, the series which began as a single film a decade ago in 2012 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Inspector Morse, will end its run after 33 episodes across nine seasons according to a special video statement from series producers Mammoth Screen and PBS Masterpiece. Season 8 will air in the U.S. on PBS Masterpiece between June 19 and July 3, followed by three more episodes for Season 9 which is currently filming in Oxford and will air in 2023.

Happy 65th, Rowan Atkinson!

Rowan Atkinson, English actor, comedian, and screenwriter turns 65 today. While best known to audiences worldwide for his work on the sitcoms Blackadder and Mr. Bean and, more recently, for his stellar performance in Maigret, I first stumbled upon Atkinson’s brilliant talent in the BBC2 sketch comedy series, Not the Nine O’Clock News.

Colin Dexter, creator of ‘Inspector Morse’, dies at 86

Crime writer Colin Dexter, the creator/author of the ‘Inspector Morse’ books died peacefully at his home in Oxford yesterday. Overall, Dexter wrote 13 Morse novels between 1975 and 1999.
