The producers of Death in Paradise must be feeling a bit like Father Christmas this week with the announcement of a new, first-time ever, Christmas special coming our way this holiday season. For Ben Miller, it turns out the Worst Week of My Life, Primeval, Death in Paradise star was able to draw on his own experiences with the mental health condition to portray the brilliant yet socially awkward Professor Jasper Teerlinck in Professor T, which premiered last Sunday on PBS.

Surprise! There’s more death in paradise on the horizon as ‘Death in Paradise’ begins filming S11

Series 11 of Death in Paradise has begun filming on on the beautiful island of Guadeloupe. While little is known, at this point, other than there will be more death in paradise, what is known is who’s back and who’s not for the newest set of whodunit’s on the fictional island of Saint Marie. For starters, DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) are back to solve more crimes reporting to Commissioner Patterson, played brilliantly by Don Warrington, the only cast member to have established a permanent residence on Saint Marie from series 1, episode 1.

Remembering Midsomer Murders’ Sykes and other 4-legged screen pets on National Love Your Pet Day 2021!

No self-respecting animal lover will ever forget Isis and Pharoah, the two 4-legged companions that were forever by Lord Grantham’s side in Downton Abbey or the majestic visual of Seamus riding up and down the Cornish coast in Poldark with Captain Ross Poldark at the helm or Queen Victoria’s beloved Dash, always at the young Queen’s side in Victoria. To celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, my thoughts immediately turned to the fictional English county of Midsomer and one of its most recognized residents, Sykes. It was a sad day back in September 2016 when one of the most beloved TV dogs since Lassie announced his retirement from Midsomer Murders. Sykes, John Barnaby’s beloved pet dog, hung up his lead following series 15 and retired after five years with the show.
